Parking

Stanford requires permits for its on-campus lots. Visitors may park in lots or spaces designated with a green "P" or an "E" sign. Parking in these spaces is charged at an hourly rate between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Weekend and holiday parking is normally free.

Visitor parking

The primary visitor parking area for campus is the Visitor/Track Lot (located at 269 Galvez Street, adjacent to the Stanford Visitor Center and Stanford Athletics Shop). Under normal circumstances, parking is enforced from 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. weekdays; evenings and weekends are free unless otherwise posted for special events. Overflow parking is usually available across the street in the Galvez Lot.

On the main Stanford campus, you have the option to purchase parking by the hour through the pay-for-parking kiosk or by the ParkMobile app (also available on the Stanford mobile website). As of September 1, 2019, visitor parking is $4.46 per hour; a 30-minute minimum payment is required. Enter your vehicle license plate number and pay with your credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover card only; no cash accepted). You do not need to display your receipt in your vehicle. The receipt is only valid at the lot or structure in which you purchased it.
